Welcome to Fail Forward

Our mission as teachers is to re-imagine learning in the 21st Century by teaching about local history through project-based or problem-based learning (PBL).  PBLs are interdisciplinary, collaborative, and feature embedded content and technology.  The goal is for our students to design and create a "digital playground" that bridges the real world with the virtual world.  Working for Venturescapes, a firm based in 10 American cities, teams of students will collaborate within and across physical spaces to create end products ("exhibit components") which explore the community while fostering learning and encouraging collaboration and civic engagement.  We hope to share our experiences with colleagues, peers, and any other individual who takes risks in the name of student learning and who learns from failure as well as success.  Fail forward.
- Michelle King and Jeff Holliday (2011-2012)
