Create a Rubric
What does "Quality Work" look like?
What elements are common to quality work? When asked this question, students responded basically the same way about all types of final products. Here are the words used to describe "quality":
- engaging, entertaining, interesting, and creative
- informative, accurate, on-topic, educational, and a good learning tool
- clear, smooth, organized, it flows, it does not detract in anyway
- time, effort, and planning is evident in the final product
Step 1: Create a rubric!
As a team, you must craft a rubric to evaluate your Final Product. Rubistar is great tool to begin creating a rubricfor a wide range of end products. In some cases, you'll find exactly what you are looking for and just need to select the appropriate criteria to assess your end product. Perhaps your end product is very unique and doesn't have a ready-made rubric (can you say "Minecraft"?). In this case, you might have to examine similar end products and build your own appropriate rubric from scratch.
You will find many sources of information on rubrics. Rubistar is just a suggested starting point.

Step 2: Get it approved!
Once you have created a rubric, it is important to have your teacher approve it. We have insights and prior experiences that might help you shape a proper evaluation tool.
Step 3: We need your input!
Once your Final Product is complete and your rubric has been approved by the teacher, evaluate your own Final Product and submit the evaluation to your teacher. In some cases, your team might want to submit a Team Rubric. In other situations, it might be best of each member of the group submits a separate rubric.
