PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING
Students describe 21st Century learning
Students were challenged to describe the qualities of a "great class activity/assignment", regardless of the content area. Then, each class period voted for their top 3 criteria among the collection of their ideas. Compiling all classes into one set of criteria, here are the qualities of a "great class activity/assignment" from the point of view of 21st Century students:
- Fun (engaging, interesting)
- Competitive (some brought up "rewards")
- Collaborative (teams, participation, etc)
- Hands-on (students are active, not passive; building things)
- Uses technology ("in an interesting way")
- "real world" (applies to real world or brings world into the classroom)
